Deck ceiling, main stairs, and Rim Hikes Award Banquet!

18Dec15 – We’ve been busy working on our Maple Forest Cottage like two horses heading for the barn.  We installed enough of the raised deck’s ceiling to pass our Electrical Inspection.  Yeah!

I completed the last of the 11 historical Rim Hikes in one year (!) last Saturday along with my dear friends, Becky & Kevin while Janet & Charlie completed theirs in two.  We received our coveted Patagonia hiking jackets at the Awards Banquet – happy hikers for sure!

The weather has been so warm here in the mountains (up to 70 degrees) that our azaleas are starting to bloom.  Oh, oh….

Whoo Hoo! The hearth is in!

12Dec15 –  The good news:  The hearth is in!!  It’s looks marvelous!   It is local stone and as an added bonus has hundreds of mini mica ships throughout  giving it a subtle sparkle in various types of light.

The “doesn’t it figure?” news:  I was on the last of 11 historical Rim Hikes and missed the whole thing….

The other good news:  Steve took pictures!  See below

Main stairway balusters going up!

02Dec15 – Steve started installing the main stairway balusters yesterday!  They look great.  He had to order a piece of lumber for the lower balusters and he’ll have that by tomorrow afternoon.  Can’t wait to see the whole stairway done!

Our couch and love seat are being delivered tomorrow morning.  Stay tuned…
